Sustainability Report 2025

STILL Sustainability FAQ

1. What sustainable solutions does STILL offer for intralogistics?

STILL develops products, services, and customized solutions that are intended to make a significant contribution to its customers’ sustainability targets. These solutions address greenhouse gas emissions, energy and resource efficiency, and the circular economy.

2. What sustainability targets does STILL pursue?

As part of the KION Group, STILL pursues the targets of the KION sustainability strategy. Key targets include:

  • reducing the accident frequency rate by at least 5 percent each year;

  • continuously increasing the number of products with an available Life Cycle Assessment;

  • continuously increasing the number of products with Cradle-to-Cradle certification;

  • reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42 percent by 2030 compared with 2021;

  • reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the use of sold products by at least 25 percent by 2030 compared with 2021;

  • achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 by 2050 at the latest;

  • increasing the share of waste recovered in the company’s own operations to at least 85 percent by 2030;

  • increasing the share of spending on Tier 1 direct Category A suppliers with low ESG risk to 80 percent by 2030.

STILL implements these targets within the strategic dimensions People, Products, and Processes. These dimensions form the framework for KION’s seven sustainability action fields.

3. Which electric drive technologies does STILL offer?

STILL is continuously developing its portfolio with a clear focus on electric drives, particularly through its STILL lithium-ion technology. These electric vehicles of STILL are also available in load-capacity classes that were previously reserved for powerful diesel or gas drives.

4. How many electrically powered vehicles did STILL sell in 2025?

In 2025, 98.2 percent of the STILL trucks sold to customers were electrically powered. This figure is based on the number of trucks ordered as part of new-business order intake.

5. What advantages do STILL lithium-ion batteries offer?

Compared with conventional lead-acid technology, STILL describes the following advantages of lithium-ion batteries:

  • higher energy efficiency;

  • longer service life;

  • shorter charging times;

  • lower maintenance requirements.

These characteristics contribute to lower energy consumption during the use phase and fewer battery changes over the product life cycle.

6. Which STILL lithium-ion battery is suitable for which application profile?

STILL follows a precision-fit approach. The energy system should match the individual application profile. This avoids unnecessary oversizing and the associated use of resources.

7. How much energy can STILL’s Blue-Q mode save?

Blue-Q mode can reduce energy consumption by up to 20 percent. At the touch of a button, the system automatically switches off functions that are not required.

8. How does STILL make charging an electric fleet more efficient?

The STILL Smart Energy Unit connects stationary chargers by cable. It controls charging processes according to demand and ensures efficient energy distribution. This helps avoid power peaks and control charging time windows. It also provides transparency on charging behavior and fleet availability.

9. Which STILL electric forklift solution is the right one?

The Smart TCO Advisor compares forklift, battery, and charger configurations. Users can enter customer-specific information such as energy costs and shift models. The tool then compares estimated energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and total cost of ownership projections.

10. Which rental and used-equipment solutions does STILL offer?

STILL offers rental and used equipment. Rental solutions can cover production peaks, support events, or replace trucks that are out of service. STILL has a rental fleet of more than 34,000 trucks.

11. How does STILL refurbish used trucks?

STILL assesses used trucks and tests their hydraulic systems and electronics. Depending on their condition, the trucks are refurbished with original replacement parts and repainted. The drive battery is regenerated and tested for capacity. After a final quality check, the truck is ready for a second life.

12. How does STILL recycle used lithium-ion batteries?

Lithium-ion batteries that have reached the end of their useful life are sent by STILL to Glencore Battery Recycling GmbH. There, the batteries are disassembled into their composite parts and recycled by material type, allowing the resources they contain to be recovered and reused. In 2025, more than 37 metric tons of battery modules, or 447 batteries, were handed over for recycling.

13. How does STILL integrate sustainability into the development of trucks and solutions?

STILL aims to integrate sustainability into all phases of the product life cycle. These phases include design, production, use, maintenance, repair, and end of life. STILL uses Life Cycle Assessments to integrate environmental aspects into product development. In 2025, sustainability aspects were also integrated into the product development process in a more structured way through the new “Product Sustainability Alignment” process.

14. For which STILL products are Life Cycle Assessments available?

In 2025, STILL completed Life Cycle Assessments for four additional truck series. The results are intended to influence product development during the design phase. STILL has also established a roadmap for analyzing further products in the coming years.

15. What EcoVadis rating did STILL receive?

STILL received an EcoVadis Platinum rating for the fourth consecutive year. STILL achieved 91 out of 100 points and ranked among the top 1 percent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis. STILL achieved above-average results in environmental management, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
